We have been absolutely delighted by the response to our Feasibility project. Thank you to everyone who has taken part.
The research is still ongoing but I thought that you would like to see what we have observed so far.
Top features
We discussed a wide variety of things that could impact the choice of venue or planning arrangements when touring. Respondents said that the ability to ask an AI agent to compose information relating to their own organisation's experience would speed up planning.
We can see that there is a general agreement that there are opportunities to increase efficiency.
The results of our study are based upon conversations with producers and programmers. The areas of interest were indicated by the conversation.
Each time a particular question was mentioned, we counted that in our statistics.
We did not attempt to weight individual answers, we simply counted the number of organisations who deemed that question to be valuable.
Top 3 information categories
- Finance
- Specifications
- Freelancers / staff
Financial data
I guess it isn't surprising that financial data comes at the top of the list. Without money, you can't produce anything; it is the bottom line.
When you break this down further you can see at the top of this list comes:
- Fees versus Expenditure
- How many seats sold
- The deal for a particular event
Those are just the top 3 out of 15.
Specifications
Some respondents said that they were unhappy with the amount of time spent finding the Venue Spec. This is usually available via the venue's website but it is in a different place each time and the detail provided varies greatly. However, what was common for everyone was the details that you don't get in a typical Venue spec.
At the top of this list is:
- Green room: is there also a quiet space or a space for children
- Auditorium size / Loading area / is it up to date
- Laundry / Costume storage
People
- Who has worked on a project
- Their previous contract
- Their availability
There is so much more that was discussed, I'm just giving you the overview here. Possibly we didn't talk so much about scheduling or the centralisation of data as this is already available with StageSwift and it isn't really something that needs AI to accomplish.
A number of people said that a big game changer would be to be able to have voice activated data entry, especially when writing up show reports.
